Hi!

Welcome to June Oliver. Here, I document my motherhood and life. Thank you for stopping by!

Hospital Bag Checklist

Hospital Bag Checklist

The infamous hospital bag checklist… there are so many out there so I hate to just add to the pile. But from doing it once with June, there are things that I really loved having and there are things that I wished I would’ve had… There are also things that my other mama friends reminded me of that I have on my list this go around.

First I’m going to make a checklist and then give some options after… just click on the square and it will take you right to the link! As far as recovery things go in the hospital, they will have all of that stuff there (mesh undies, cream for “down there”, pads or whatever else you may need). I’d rather slightly over pack than under pack. Again these are just ideas and what I am planning on bringing. You can change things according to your preferences.

  • Loungewear

  • Robe

  • Nursing Tanks

  • Slippers

  • Nursing Sports Bra

  • Pillow

  • Toothbrush & toothpaste

  • Makeup Bag

  • Flat iron/Straightener

  • Hair Ties

  • Chapstick (dry lips during labor is intense)

  • Lanolin

  • Shampoo

  • Conditioner

  • Dry Shampoo

  • Face Wipes

  • Brush

  • Hair Dryer

  • Face wash

  • Body Wash

  • Socks

  • Charger

  • Panties (although you’ll probably just wear the mesh underwear)

  • Fabric nursing pads

  • Deodorant

  • Blanket if preferred

  • Coming home clothes (aka more loungewear)

  • Boppy in the car to sit on on the way home (for VBAC)— I would’ve never thought of this the first time… from just a one time experience, I’m bringing one this time. I learned the hard way, yikes.

Again, they will have most of what you will need for baby! Diapers will be provided as well as other things to care for him/her.

  • Onesies

  • Swaddles

  • Socks

  • Hat/bow/headbands

  • Mittens for scratching

  • Pacifier (i know everyone has opinions but we give baby a paci whenever we want)

  • Going home outfit (for us that’s jammies ;))

  • Carseat installed

Obviously your husband is going to have specific things he will want to bring for himself. Again, this is just a guideline based on our preferences.

  • Loungewear (sweatpants, tees)

  • Sweatshirt

  • A couple of outfits

  • Socks

  • Slippers

  • Charger

  • Computer & charger

  • Dopp Kit (toothbrush, face wash, razor, deodorant, etc.)

  • Underwear

  • Pillow

  • Blanket

  • Protein bars

  • Bluetooth speaker

  • Essential oils & diffuser

  • Snacks— even during delivery alone… things could take a while. Paul was so hungry.

  • Big sister gift for June

  • Camera

  • Deck of cards (I know I know, funny, but sometimes it’s boring in there)

This is 100% insane but I’m so excited to do this again. I think it’s the adrenaline rush or maybe the fact that it’s the holiest, most miraculous thing I’ve ever experienced. Not that it’s easy— not even close. It’s the hardest thing I’ve physically ever ever ever done. But wow is it worth it. Again, best wishes! If there are things you have on your list that aren’t on mine, feel free to comment below! Happy and safe delivery to you!!
